A Philadelphia teen was shot and killed while grabbing a bottle of water from his father’s car on Thursday, March 24.
According to reports, the deceased, Sean Tomey, was shot at around 9:12 pm on Thursday on the 6200 block of Mulberry Street in the city’s Wissinoming section.
Officials also outlined that at the time of the shooting, there were two male suspects pulling on a woman’s car door as she drove into her apartment complex.
Following this discovery, the woman called her boyfriend for help, however, the two suspects opened fire then made their escape.
“I heard the two pops, and I thought it was firecrackers, but it only takes a second to grab some water and get in the house and he wasn’t coming back in. So, I got curious, I put my sweatshirt on, and I went outside, and I saw him lying on my neighbor’s lawn,” Sean’s father recalled.
Since his death, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family pay for funeral and memorial expenses.
Subsequent investigations are ongoing.
