Music has been used by many as a source of hope to get through difficult times or to inspire people to take action. No different is Serani and Kabaka Pyramid’s new collaboration “Gonna Be Alright,” to be released this Friday, March 18.

Produced by Anthony Taylor and Giovanni Powell, the song is a part of the Spot On Riddim compilation album from Spot On Records and Element Music Group. The positive song spreads a message of love, unity, and empowerment. It is a timely reminder to the public to remain hopeful in these serious times.

Serani starts the song on a positive note with an initial verse that highlights the powerful social activist, Martin Luther King Jr. The lyrics, “turn grey to blue skies we are gonna be alright”, are complemented by an uplifting beat further amplifying the positive theme. The song continues with Kabaka’s empowering verse where he tells listeners they can do anything and to stand tall despite the adversities we may face in society. Fittingly, the visuals for the song were shot at Emancipation Park in Kingston, Jamaica. The park which is the home of the popular “Redemption Song” statue, proudly stands as a symbol of triumph over slavery as well as hope and liberation to the Jamaican people.

With a few hits under their belts, both artistes have earned local and international recognition with their musical talent. Serani is a Billboard chart-topping singer and producer, and Kabaka Pyramid is an award-winning reggae artist known for his conscious music.
