267 COVID-19 cases, 10 deaths

Jamaica on Thursday recorded 267 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 125,517.

There were ten additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,687. Two deaths are under investigation. However the number of deaths has decreased to 403. There were no coincidental deaths.

The deceased are:

  • An 87-year-old man from St Elizabeth
  • A 63-year-old man from St Elizabeth
  • A 56-year-old man from St Elizabeth
  • An 82-year-old woman from St Elizabeth
  • A 27-year-old woman from St Catherine
  • An 81-year-old man from St Catherine
  • An 84-year-old man from Clarendon
  • A 70-year-old man from Clarendon
  • A 75-year-old woman from Kingston and St Andrew
  • A 50-year-old woman from St Elizabeth

The deaths occurred between January and February, 2022.

The positivity rate decreased from 25.4 per cent to 24.6 per cent. The total number of tests: 1,746.

Of the 263 new cases, St Catherine accounted for the highest number with 51.

Kingston and St Andrew in the meantime, accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 46; St James followed with 37; St Ann with 27; Trelawny with 21; Manchester with 19; St Mary with 17; Clarendon with 11; Portland with 10; St Elizabeth and Hanover with 9 each; St Thomas with 7; Westmoreland with 3.
