American rapper Lil Uzi trolled the Internet by paying homage to the ‘Worl Boss’ Vybz Kartel after changing his profile picture to an image of the dancehall icon and dropping a quote from one of his songs.
Uzi, known for his shock value presence, tweeted: “Bleaching my skin imma need a umbrella” shortly after changing his picture to that of the ‘Dancehall hero’, which many users immediately caught on as a troll to Black History Month.
Uzi, like Kartel, is known for his unorthodox carefree style and image as well as the almost cultic attraction to his songs.
The rapper’s timeline was immediately flooded with memes and counter tweets about his seemingly facetious post, in which the rapper seemed to be unbothered.
The gesture, however, immediately shot the ‘Empire Boss’ to the top trending topic on the platform, with many Jamaicans reacting to the attention he has received.
With Kartel’s undoubtable influence stretching beyond the region and the world now sitting up again and taking notice of the genre, it may be a hint of a possible collaboration between the two.
While the ‘Money Longer’ rapper has not come out and expressed any feature between himself and the Jamaican, the gesture was enough to spark wild speculation of how awesome a Kartel feature would be.
