30 COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

Jamaica on Wednesday recorded 30 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 128,456.

There were two additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,857. There were no coincidental deaths, nor deaths under investigation.

The deceased are:

  • A 62-year-old woman from St James
  • A 41-year-old woman from St James

The deaths occurred in August 2021.

The positivity rate increased from 1.9 per cent to 4.8 per cent. The total number of tests: 2,730.

Of the 30 new cases, Kingston and St Andrew accounted for the highest number with 10.

Clarendon, in the meantime, accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 7; St Ann, St Catherine and Westmoreland followed with 3 each; St Elizabeth with 2; Manchester and St James with 1 each. Hanover, Portland, St Mary, St Thomas and Trelawny recorded no new cases.
