Jamaica on Thursday recorded 21 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 128,477.

There was one additional death, a 48-year-old woman from Hanover. This increased the figure to 2,858. There were no coincidental deaths. However, one death is under investigation. The total number of deaths under investigation now stands at 408.

The positivity rate decreased from 4.8 per cent to 3.0 per cent. The total number of tests: 2,411.

Of the 21 new cases, St Ann accounted for the highest number with 8.

St James, in the meantime, accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 7; Hanover followed with 3; St Thomas with 2; Clarendon with 1. Kingston and St Andrew, Manchester, Portland, St Catherine, St Elizabeth, St Mary, Westmoreland and Trelawny recorded no new cases.
