Actor, comedian, recording artiste, and at a point radio personality Slashe (formerly known as Iceman) took the win in the 2023 Jamaica Festival Song Competition, Saturday night with βBest in the Worldβ.
The song, βBest in the Worldβ produced by CEO of Penthouse Donovan Germain, managed to rise above 10 other entries for the cash prize of $3 million including other prizes.

Fun Fact: This was Slashe’s second time competing in the competition. Back in 2004 he entered as Iceman but was unsuccessful.
However, 19 years later having rebranded, Donald βSlasheβ Anderson is the Festival Song winner as Jamaica celebrates 61 years of independence.

Meanwhile, second placed went to former Digicel Rising Stars winner Shuga with βDancing Same Wayβ and third to multi-JUNO Award winner Exco Levi with his song βFeel Like Homeβ.
