Actor, comedian, recording artiste, and at a point radio personality Slashe (formerly known as Iceman) took the win in the 2023 Jamaica Festival Song Competition, Saturday night with β€˜Best in the World’.

The song, β€˜Best in the World’ produced by CEO of Penthouse Donovan Germain, managed to rise above 10 other entries for the cash prize of $3 million including other prizes.

Fun Fact: This was Slashe’s second time competing in the competition. Back in 2004 he entered as Iceman but was unsuccessful.

However, 19 years later having rebranded, Donald β€œSlashe” Anderson is the Festival Song winner as Jamaica celebrates 61 years of independence.

Meanwhile, second placed went to former Digicel Rising Stars winner Shuga with β€œDancing Same Way” and third to multi-JUNO Award winner Exco Levi with his song β€œFeel Like Home”.
